The origin of the breed is believed to be going back to the Celtic word “beag” that can be translated as “small”. The Beagle breed has a long history and the very first known Beagles are mentioned living in the ancient Greece while England is typically described as the true cradle of the breed. Beagles were in particular favour with King James I of Scotland (1394 – 1437) and Queen Elizabeth I (1533 – 1603).

Kind by the nature, Beagles love life and are always a real fun to have around as Beagles puppies and later dogs are so eager to please their owners. Beagles are medium sized dogs that love being around people and typically get on well with other dogs and pets. Beagles are scenthounds and their noses often guide them to unexpected adventures while dogs of this breed are often seen in the airports and on duty in police departments.  Beagles are a highly energetic breed and would require a lot of daily exercises.
